The Ebmeyer Family

The Ebmeyer Family
Hi. We're the Ebmeyers. We love to swim, swing at the park, go for walks, ride our bikes, play at the beach, read books, dance, and really just be together. The only thing better than this is sharing it with friends. In the words of Jack Johnson, "It's always better when we're together".

Fireworks!

Here we are watching Fireworks a the beach while Reagan tries to wrestle everyone in sight. As you can see Paige wasn't thinking it was quite as fun as Reagan did. Luckily Dad was up for it! For those of you that know Brock well you have heard Brock yell the William Wallace Braveheart "Freeeeeedom" at the top of his lungs. So for the past 8 years or so I have had the "pleasure" of having this a part of my holiday. He yells it in the middle of the 5k run, the parade, and the fireworks show. This year, just to take it to a new level, Brock decides to get Reagan to be his partner in crime. By the end of the day, much to my disappointment she had it down. All I can remember about the firework show is "FREEEEEEDOM"!

HAPPY 4th of JULY From the HB Parade!

Watching the parade with friends on Main St. Thanks Hixons for an awesome party. You sure do put on a great spread!

I did It!

It took a few tries but by Reagan's last week of swim class she finally built up enough courage to upgrade from jumping off the side of the pool to the "big kid" block! Go Raguuzies!

Happy 4th of July from the annual HB 5k run.

My first movie!

Reagan's first movie, "Elmo & Friends" with some of her buddies; Chase, Anna,
Emerson, Ava, & cousin Paije. Do you think she's excited?

Excercises

All of you with 2 year olds know that whatever you're doing they want to do it too. All of a sudden I looked up and Reagan had a wash cloth and was doing "exercises", as she likes to call them, right next to me.

As you can see Reagan loves to swim. She is becoming a better swimmer each day. Go Ragu!

"I'm gonna be a BIG Sister"

Whoooooohoooooo! I am having numero dos! We are absolutely elated! I am only 8 weeks but I saw the heart beat last week and had to share the news with my family while we were visiting in AZ! And as you may not be able to tell by the video, Reagan is excited to soon be a big sister!

Me and my little bro CK

Reagan, Brock and cousin Paije

Just got back from AZ. How did I grow up there? It is crazy hot, even up in the mountains. We had out 1st Annual Rogers Family Reunion. Better late than never! Always great to see the fam! And I don't want to forget....Happy Birthday Bapa! We love you!

We spent the day at the Long Beach Aquarium.
Reagan loves fish so as you can imagine she was going nuts!

After checking out our blog for the first time and then checking out the links of our friends Brock, in true Brock fashion, had this comment. "Although all our kids friends are great I have seen enough pics of them and really just want to see pics of my friends and who got fat after college." So here is a pic of Brock just so he can show what he's been up to after college....just hanging out at Disneyland, still acting like a 12 year old.

What can I say, I'm a slave driver. I just have to take advantage of the few years she actually wants to do chores. In case you're wondering, we are mopping the floor. I know you're probably asking, "Where's the mop?" This like all my crazy sayings, I got from my mom. It works great and you get a great work out at the same time.

Another tough day being a mom in Huntington Beach

Swimming is probably one of our favorite things to do as a family. Here is Reagan last week practicing with Daddy! In a couple of weeks Reagan starts her first swim class without me being in the water with her. Both she and her cousin Paije are going to take the class together when she comes to stay for the summer!

It's official....I think. Reagan is now potty trained. She has gone 5 days now wearing "undies" all day without one single mishap! Monday the 2nd of June 2008 will always hold a dear place in my heart. While outside Brock and I were watching Reagan ride her bike when she stopped and said "Mommy, I be right back" we watched as she ran around the corner and into the house. Could it be? No, I don't believe it. When we got inside we found Reagan sitting on her potty chair going potty! Wow, was I proud. It's amazing. we no longer have to sit with her for 20 mins. and ask her to go to the bathroom like in this video. (I hope she doesn't hate us for life when she sees that we exposed her "pushing one out") I just thought it was too funny how arduous it was for her. Anyway, now Reagan just runs in the bathroom when she needs to go. Sometimes I don't even know she's gone until I hear the clanking of the M&M jar where she carefully counts out three for her reward. I do want to add that I never thought I'd see this day. It took about 2 months of sitting next to her on the potty playing games, doing puzzles, reading books, doing flash cards just to get her to stay seated. Just days before the blessed event, my first day trying to go out in public without a diaper, she had a pretty successful first half of the day. We had two birthday parties to go to and the first one was a success but the second party at a different park didn't have a public bathroom. I brought the potty with us and put it under a tree far from everyone. She wouldn't have anything to do with it. It was a pool party and there was no way she was getting out of that pool to freeze and sit on the pot. Needles to say, right before we were about to leave I hear Reagan yelling "Moommy poo poo"! as poo is running down her leg into the grass in the middle of the party. Yeah, I was the mom of THAT kid. The one who poos in the middle of a birthday party.

May 24th 2008
Here we are salvaging the rest of the day for our Memorial Day weekend party with the Ebmeyers from Apple Valley. We originally had great intentions of starting a new tradition to kick off the summer HB style. We would start with a fun filled day at the beach and end it with a BBQ and bonfire that night. Well our plans were squashed b/c it rained all weekend.
Luckily it cleared up a little in the afternoon and we were able to go to the pool for an hour or so. Make sure not to miss my "Martha Washington hair". Brock always makes me do it for friends. I think he thinks it's funnier than it really is.

This just cracks me up b/c she has to do it all by herself. "No Mommy". It's already started and she' s only 2.

Reagan's Birthday party at the park with all her buddies....she had a ball!

Here's Reagan with her best buddy "Luku" at Disneyland. We call him both Luke and Lucas and I think she got a little confused!

Reagan at our ward Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Easter! We're on our way to church. Nursery is one of Reagan's favorites!

Here we are on the handcart trail. What a cool experience! We thought we'd be cruisin' on some little path. Wow, were we in for a treat. It took us four hours to go 3 miles. We even ended up ditching our third cart. They were so HEAVY!

Reagan loves to help with "cookin", as she calls it. Here she is on our vacation to Nauvoo, IL visiting Grandma and Grandpa Ebmeyer on their mission. She's helping them with their assignment in the mission bakery. The baking legends live on !

Happy Birthday to Reagan. She turned 2 in April.
